OUR PHILOSOPHY

We have a very simple philosophy. First, we want you to feel welcome and comfortable. Second, we take a lot of pride in our food. When we say, “home-made,” we mean that it is made, by us, right here at the restaurant. We hand-pick the ingredients to be sure they are fresh, because we make every dish as if we were going to eat it ourselves. We don't include anything on the menu unless we feel that it will be the best in town. We hope you enjoy eating here as much as we do.

CHRIS EVANS

Chef Chris Evans, a native of St. Louis, Missouri was led to The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY where he earned his culinary degree.

Young Chris was surrounded by family and friends who regularly shared their joy of cooking. When his mother wasn't preparing great family meals, she'd introduce Chris to fine restaurants. She inspired him to become a chef.

His first kitchen job was washing dishes at a restaurant in Mobile, AL. Chris has held every position in a restaurant and has worked for some outstanding chefs.

After graduating from CIA in New York he and his wife, Christi, chose Jacksonville to call home. Chef Chris is grateful to have met and worked with some of Jacksonville’s great chefs.

Chef Chris met Don Brindley, another St. Louisan. Their friendship started over a meal that Chris had cooked for Don and turned into a partnership to create Picasso's in 2004.
